What is an electronic visa?
Electronic visa is a type of visa issued by the Immigration Department to foreigners through the electronic transaction system. Vietnam e-visa is valid for one time, not exceeding 30 days.
Foreigners who are living abroad and wish to enter Vietnam may apply for an electronic visa directly or through inviting or guaranteeing agencies and organizations.

Note: Electronic visa issuance fee is paid via the electronic payment gateway prescribed by the Immigration Department. Fees for e-visa and electronic payment are not refundable in case the applicant is not granted a visa.

Conditions for obtaining an electronic visa:

    Foreigners are in foreign countries;
    Have a valid passport;
    Not falling into cases not yet permitted for entry under Article 21 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.

Instructions on how to apply for Vietnam electronic visa
1. The steps to apply for electronic visa for foreigners who are abroad:

Step 1: Enter information for electronic visa application:

Upload a photo of the passport's personal page and portrait (face without eyes);

After this step, the proponent will be granted an electronic Profile Code;

Step 2: Pay the electronic visa issuance fee (USD 25);

Step 3: Use the electronic Profile Code to check the results, if approved, print electronic visas to enter / exit Vietnam.

2. Steps for applying for electronic visas for agencies, organizations inviting and guaranteeing foreigners:

Before applying for an electronic visa for foreigners entering Vietnam, inviting or guaranteeing agencies and organizations must carry out the procedures for requesting an account to access and register for use of an electronic pen.

Within 03 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier, the Immigration Department will issue an access account to the organization.

The procedures for requesting an account and registering to use an electronic pen may be performed only once, except for the case of re-registration due to changes in the registered information contents, or the account being canceled as prescribed.

After obtaining an access account and being allowed to use an electronic pen, the application for an electronic visa for foreigners is made as follows:

Step 1: Use the granted account to log in the declaration form and send the electronic visa application.

Step 2: Enter the information of the foreigner applying for an electronic visa;

Upload the passport's personal page photo and portrait (face without glasses) of each foreigner;

After completing the information entry for each guest, the system will issue an electronic visa code to each foreigner.

Step 3: Use an electronic signature pen to confirm the information requested;

Step 4: Pay the electronic visa issuance fee;

Step 5: Use the granted account to check the results, if approved, send the electronic file code to foreigners to print electronic visas and enter / exit Vietnam.

3. Steps to get an electronic visa for international airlines:

International airlines wishing to exploit information on e-visa of passengers before transporting to Vietnam are as follows:

Send a written request to the Immigration Department for grant of access account;

Use the access account issued by the Immigration Department to log in and check the electronic visa information of passengers carried by them into Vietnam.
