According to the notice dated May 18 by the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security), foreign nationals enter the country on the basis of visa exemption, entry on e-visas or tourist visas from 1-3- 2020 is now "automatically extended temporary residence" until the end of June 30, 2020.

These people may exit during the above period without having to carry out procedures for extending the temporary residence.

In case of entry before March 1, 2020, if proving that it is stuck due to COVID-19 translation, the diplomatic mission has been certified by a diplomatic note (with a Vietnamese translation) or a written confirmation. of the Vietnamese authorities on isolation, treatment of COVID-19 or other force majeure reasons ... are also considered to apply "automatic extension of temporary stay" until June 30, 2020. They must produce the above note or confirmation document on exit.

Foreign nationals during the "automatically extended temporary residence" period must declare temporary residence and medical declaration as prescribed.

Foreign nationals who are not defined in item 1 of this notice or have violated other laws shall comply with the current provisions of Vietnamese law.
