Korean visa application procedure

In 2018, the number of tourists visiting Korea increased significantly compared to the past years. South Korea now pays much attention to the country's tourism segment and visa procedures are also slightly loosened for visitors.rg

KOREAN VISA TYPES:

Considering the time limit and the number of times to allow entry, there are 2 types of Korean visas:

- Korean visa 1 time allowing Korean entry 1 time within 3 months

- Korean visa allows many times to enter Korea many times in a period of 3 years.

If considering the purpose of the trip, Korean visas have two main types of visas:

♦ Tourist and business visas: issued to foreigners visiting Korea for the purpose of traveling, visiting friends and relatives in Korea, participating in conferences, commercial transactions, ... This visa can be extended. Additional maximum is 90 days.

♦ Work visa: allows the visa holder to work and get paid for a company or organization in Korea. Depending on the professionalism of the job, the visa holder may stay in Korea for up to 7 years

- Amateur working visas usually have a stay of 3 years, but allow for an extension of up to 4 years 10 months when working for the same business.

- Professional working visa allows a stay of 2 - 7 years depending on the job.

All long-term visas allow only one entry visa holder

Korean visa application period is 8 -10 days from the day the Consulate receives the application (excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays)
