The Vietnamese government exempts visas for 22 nationals, including unilateral visas for 13 countries and bilateral visas for 9 ASEAN countries.
- Currently, the Vietnamese government exempts visas for citizens of 22 countries, including unilateral visas for citizens of 13 countries including: Japan, South Korea, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden. , Russia, Belarus, England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy ...
- At the same time, Vietnam also exempts bilateral visa to 9 countries in ASEAN: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand.
- Brunei passport holders are exempt from Vietnam visa for a temporary stay of 14 days.
- Citizens holding passports of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos are exempt from Vietnam visa for a temporary stay of 30 days.
- Citizens holding Filipino passport are exempt from Vietnam visa for a temporary stay of 21 days.
- Citizens holding passports of Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia and Finland are exempt from Vietnam visa for a temporary stay of 15 days. If you want to stay longer, citizens will have to apply for a 1-month or 3-month visa (single or multiple entry).
- From July 1, Vietnam has exempted unilateral visas for tourists from 5 countries, including Germany, France, England, Italy and Spain. Citizens of these countries entering Vietnam are not required to apply for visas with a period of 15 days.
- French and Chilean citizens holding valid diplomatic or official business passports are exempt from Vietnam visa and are allowed to stay in Vietnam for one single or multiple entries with a total duration of stay of 90 days within 6 months from the date of first entry.
- APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders under member countries of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) are exempt from Vietnam visas for a temporary stay of 60 days.
- For visitors to Phu Quoc Island of Vietnam: Foreigners and Vietnamese citizens bringing foreign citizens to Vietnam via an international border gate and then travel to Phu Quoc Island and stay there under 15 days will be exempt from Vietnam visa. Passport must be valid for at least 45 days. After arriving in Phu Quoc, if you want to visit other localities or stay in the island for more than 15 days, the Immigration Department will issue Vietnam visas to visitors right in Phu Quoc.
Note: Foreigners eligible for bilateral entry visa exemption from visas must have a passport of at least 06-month validity and it must be at least 30 days from their previous departure from Vietnam.
1. Foreigners who are allowed to enter Vietnam on the basis of unilateral visa exemption under the Immigration Law.

2. Foreigners exempt from Vietnam entry visas must have valid passports or travel documents for international travel.
- Accordingly, the passports of foreigners exempt from Vietnam entry visas must be valid for at least 06 months and must be at least 30 days from the previous exit from Vietnam.
3. Foreigners who are exempt from Vietnam entry visas do not fall into the categories of not being allowed for entry under the Immigration Law.
Accordingly, cases of entry prohibition for foreigners exempt from entry visas under the Immigration Law include:
- Children under 14 years old without a parent, guarantor or authorized person accompaning.
- Committing acts of forging papers, making false declarations in order to be issued important papers of entry, exit or residence.
- Foreigners suffering from mental illness or infectious diseases, which poses a threat to public health.
- Foreigners are deported from Vietnam for less than 03 years from the effective date of the deportation.
- Foreigners are forced to leave Vietnam for less than 06 months from the date of being forced to leave.
- For reasons of disease prevention and treatment .
- For reasons of disasters and catastrophies .
- For reasons of national defense, security, social order and safety.
