In recent years, more and more Vietnamese are getting married to South Korean people. To enter the door of marriage, a spouse visa is very needed. So how do you apply for a spouse visa?

South Korea spouse visas, or F6 visas, are issued to those who want to get married to South Korean citizens and settle in South Korea.
The Vietnamese spouse needs to provide:
- Passport, in original (with a minimum validity of six months)
- Filled-in visa application form\
- 2 photographs of the specified size (3x4cm)
- Marriage registration
- A copy of ID card
- A copy of Family registration book
- Wedding photo and family photo
- Judicial Records
- Health check-up
- Proof of Korean language proficency
- Besides, if the applicant was married, he/she needs to provide Divorce Certificate, Death certificate of the previous spouse.
The Korean spouse needs to provide:
- Invitation letter, letter of guarantee
- Finance declaration
- Marital status
- Relative relations
- Basic Confirmation letter
- Confirmation of personal seal.
- ID card (copy)
- International Marrage certification
- Judicial Records
- Health check-up
- Proof of finance
- Proof of profession
To get your visa approved, you need to provide complete translated and notarized application. Here are a couple things you should take into consideration:
- Korean spouse's documents need to be in original and issued in the last 3 months til the application date (except health check-up)
- Vietnamese spouse's documents need to be notarized and translated into English/ Korean.
- Health check-up must be issued by big hospitals, checking on mentality, blood and infectious diseases. This paper is valid for 6 months from the signed date
- For those who can't provide wedding or family photos, they need to write letter of explanation which then should be translated into Korean/English.
- In case the spouses knew each other not by the help of the third party and co-habitated for more than 6 months, they need to provide an international marriage certificate.
In case the spouses knew each other by the help of the third party, additional documents provided by the third party will be requested:
- Letter of recommendation
- Business registration
- Business permit issued by a competent authority
- Persnal signature and ID card of the representative
Vietnamese are exempt from Korean language certificate in some cases. These people need to write a letter of explanation and present documents proving they're under these following circumstances:
- Korean language certificate
- Korean expatriates
- Used to live in Korea for at least 1 year
