Required documents

- Filled in Macau visa application form.

- 2 photograph of the specified size (4x6cm), taken within the past 6 months.

- Passport, in original and copy (with a minimum validity of six months, at least 2 blank pages for visa stamps). If you have an old passport, provide a copy of it.

- A copy of Family registration book

- Copies of Ciriculum Vitae, ID card

- Papers on marital status (Divorce certificate, marriage registration)

- Proof of Profession: 

+ If applicant is self-employed or a company owner: Certificate of Corporation, business registration, tax papers in the past 3 months,...

+ If applicant is employed: Certificate of designation, labour contract, payslips in the last 3 months, insurance,...

- Proof of finance:

+ Original and copy of saving books, bank staements in the past 3 months and bank balance of at least 1.500 USD

+ Ownership certificate of other assets: land, stock, motorbike, car,..

- Travel schedule:

+ Detailed travel schedule for each days of the trip. If you're on a tour, please provide information of the tour operator.

+ If you have a guarantor, please provide his/her information, inviation letter, address,...

Some Macau travel tips

1. Good time to travel

- According to many people who have been here, the best time for traveling here is from May- September when the weather is very nice, a bit sunny but not too harsh, sometimes, it will rain for a short time and not much.

Note: Though the temperature is pretty high during daytime, it gets quite cold at night. Remember to bring a light coat to keep you warm at night and some light clothes, sport shoes, sun screen, umbrella and caps...

2. Transportation 

Transportation to Macau

Flying is the most common way to reach Macau. There are two options you can choose:

+ You can book a flight from Vietnam to Hong Kong and take a train to Macau. It would take you 40 mins to arrive in Macau. The train station is right next to the airport so it would be no hard for you to find the way to Macau.

+ You can book a flight by international airline Viva Macau airlines to fly from Vetnam straight to Macau. ( the tickes are expensive, around 2000$). After landing, you can take a free bus to your hotel.

Transportation in Macau

There are a lot of means of transportation for you to choose from in Macau, depending on your budget. Here are the 4 most common:

Public buses and mini buses

- This is the best way to travel on budget. There are 40 bus routes, working from 6.45 am to 12am everyday. If you're traveling alone, you can grab a bus map in order to travel around more easily. Here  are 4 most frequented buses:

+ Bus 3, 3A: Travel from port to city center

+ Bus 12: pass Lisboa Hotel and Lou Kim IOC and Kun garden

+ Bus 21, 21A, 25, 26: Travel to Taipa and Coloane

Trishaw (Cyclo)

- If you want to sightsee Macau, trishaw is not a bad idea when you can explore many tourist attractions such as Saint Paul Church, A Ma Temple, Macau Tower, Senado Square,...

Taxi

A popular means of transportation here. Remember to write down the name of the driver and car slate in case you are not satisfied with the service, you can totally give your complaints or feedback to Tourist Service Center

Car or motorbike renting

You want to explore the places on your own then you should rent a car or motorbike to ride around.

3. Fun spots in Macau.

- Macau casinos: Macau is reffered as " Las Vegas of Asia" thanks to its many luxurious casinos that have now been the symbol of tourism of the city. You can't ever miss these amazing places when coming to Macau.

Macau has more than 20 small and big legalized casinos. Most famous and crowded are Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, Sands Macao, MGM Macao, Lisboa, Venetian Macao…

- Genting Highlands:  the fun never stops at Genting which is popularly known as the city of Entertainment with all forms of entertainment from theater, circus,... to many outdoor and indoor games, water park, thrilling games, shopping center, restaurants, hotels,..

- Senado Square: Largo Do Senado is a place you can't not miss when you're in Macau. Here you can witness a harmonious blend of oriental and western architecture and cultures with churches, unique public contructions, Hindu style Lotus-shaped houses,.. In addition, after attending the church, you can talk a walk, go shopping or try out some famous Macau cusine such as: Grilled meat, roasted duck, grilled goose,...

- Saint Paul Church: Living through the wars, the church is no  longer intact but it's still undeniably the greatest architecture of Asian Christians and imprinted with the original Chinese Macao features. You can take Bus 2,5,10,18 and 26A to get here. (also Senado Square)

- Venetian Macau - Venice of Macau: a complex of casino-hotel-restaurant- shopping center- entertainment, Venetian Macau is magnetic to tourists from all over the world. Coming here, you will have a chance to visit the largest and most stunning casino of  Asia, go shopping at 350 department stores, eating at St. Mark's Square... You can take a free bus from the airport to get here.

- Other tourist attractions: Monte Fort, Kun Iam Statue, Taipa Bridge, A-Ma Temple, Macau Tower,...

4. Accommodation

There is a wide range of accomodations in Macau from cheap motel to luxious hotel for you to stay in. To book a hotel at a cheaper price, you should make  reservation 1-2 months prior to your trip, especially during the peak time for traveling. Here are some recommendations:

Ole London Hotel: located in Macau city, this is an ideal hotel for you. With open and clean space, friendly and helpful staff, you will feel extremely comfortable staying here. This hotel is also near many famous tourist attractions.

Grandview hotel: One of many beautiful hotels with reasonable price and has many good reviews. With necessary amenities such as cable TV, minibar,.. you can definitely enjoy yourself here.

Portuguese rice with seafood

-a uniquely cooked rice combined with fresh, nutritious seafood and tomato sauce, seafood broth creating a delicious, rich flavor.  Portugal is where this food come from, but when it comes to Macau, it becomes a delicious  indispensable dish to  the lives of people here.

Black garlic chocolate

Black garlic or furmented garlic is very good for health and contains anti oxidant. In the hand of skiled cooks, the black garlic chocolate was born and now has become a favorite to many people. This is a must-try food in term of Macau cusine.

Shrimp ice cream

An amazing cusine with fresh shrimps marinated in lemon juice and olive oil before processing. 

6. Some notes while traveling

- When paying by credit card, remember what is written in the receipts and keep them with you. Check if there is any name, contact number and address  of the store on the receipts.

- There are 3 currencies in Macau: Macanese pataca (MOP), Yuen (China) và Hongkong dollar.

- Macau people are fluent in English, Portuguese and Chinese. 

- When traveling by taxi, choose the ones that have meters. Remember the taxi driver's name and car plate in case you forget your belongings in the car.
