Thailand has always been one of the top international travel destinations for Vietnamese travelers, thanks to its reputation for being easy to visit, affordable, convenient, and full of exciting experiences. However, for first-time visitors, immigration procedures can often be a source of confusion and concern. If you are facing the same challenge, this article will provide a detailed guide to Thailand's entry requirements and immigration procedures, helping you enjoy a smooth and hassle-free arrival in the Land of Smiles.

How to Complete the Thailand Arrival Card

Thailand has combined the arrival and departure cards into a single form, making the process simpler and reducing the amount of information travelers need to provide. As a result, immigration procedures are now much faster and more convenient than before.

The arrival card is usually distributed on the airplane, or you can obtain one at the immigration counter upon arrival. However, it is highly recommended that you take the form provided during your flight and spend a few minutes completing it before landing (don't forget to bring a pen). This will allow you to proceed directly to immigration upon arrival without having to fill out forms at the airport, saving valuable time, especially at busy airports such as Bangkok where large numbers of tourists arrive daily.

1. Contents of the Arrival Card

  • Departure Card: Retained by the traveler and submitted when departing Thailand (Immigration officers typically keep the Arrival Card and return the Departure Card to you, so be sure to keep it safe).

Important Notes for Entering Thailand

Thailand grants visa-free entry for Vietnamese citizens visiting for short-term tourism. However, to ensure a smooth entry process, you should prepare the following documents round-trip airline tickets or onward tickets to a third country, hotel reservation confirmations, travel itinerary, proof of sufficient financial means.

Always carry your passport with you and store it safely. Avoid keeping it together with cash, as it can easily be lost when handling money. In the event of passport loss, contact the Embassy of Vietnam in Bangkok immediately to report the incident and seek assistance.

Thailand may require travelers to carry at least USD 500 upon entry. Although this requirement is not frequently checked in practice, it is advisable to have sufficient funds available in case immigration officers request proof.

For additional peace of mind, travelers are encouraged to prepare printed hotel booking confirmations; an English-language travel itinerary; printed round-trip flight tickets; valid international payment cards; a reasonable amount of cash.

Ensuring that all required documents are prepared in advance will help make your immigration process smooth and hassle-free.

We hope the information above helps you enjoy a pleasant and stress-free trip to Thailand. Known as the "Land of Smiles," Thailand offers visitors a rich blend of cultural attractions, exciting entertainment, world-famous cuisine, and warm hospitality. If you are still considering whether to visit, now is the perfect time to book your ticket, pack your suitcase, and begin your adventure. We wish you a wonderful journey filled with unforgettable experiences.
