Where can you apply for China visas? What is their working time?

If you want to apply on your own (not asking for help form visa services or company), you should hand in your documents at one of those Chinese representative offices:

- China consulate in Ho Chi Minh city: 175 Hai Ba Trung, Ward 6, District 3, Ho Chi Minh city ( for those living in Da Nang towards the southern part of Vietnam or temporarily residing in this area)

- Chinese Embassy in Hanoi: 46 Hoang Dieu, Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi ( for those living in the northern part of Vietnam or temporarily residing in this area

- Working time: Mon -Fri; From 8.30 am to 5pm. Unavaible on Chinese and Vietnamese holiday.

The Embassy working time is from 8am to 11.30 am and 2pm to 5 pm. They receive applicants' profiles and application fees on Mon- Fri from 2pm to 4pm.

What are the required documents?

Common documents for China visa application:

Proof of identity:

- A filled-in short-term China visa application form

- 1 photograph of the specified size (3.5x4.5cm), attached on the form

- Passport, in original (with a minimum validity of six months)

- Family registration book

- Marriage registration (if married)

- ID card

Proof of Profession and social status

- Labour contract

- Payslips in the past 3 months( if you receive salary via bank account, please provide bank statements of the past 3 months in english)

- Vacation request letter

If applicant is a company owner, please provide:

- Certificate of business registration

- Bank statements of the past 3 months

- Tax papers of the past 3 months

If applicant is a student, please provide:

- Student ID card

- Academic transcripts of the past 3 months

- Permission to leav school

- Birth Certificate

If applicant is retired, please provide:

Retirement decision

- Pension card

- Pension book, if via bank account, please provide bank statements of the past 3 months

Proof of Finance

- Motor vehicle registration

- Family registration book

- Saving account with at least 100,000,000 vnd/applicant

- A copy of the credit card's front

- Bank statements in the past 3 months

Notes: you have to prove that you can afford your trip and going back to your country without any sponsorship from foreign fundings. Bigger your budget, higher chance of passing the application

Proof of residence: Paper of temporary residence in China or hotel booking

Transportation: flight tickets

Travel insurance

Additional documents for applicants under 18: Parents agreement for the child to travel abroad with local authority's confirmation. Besides, parents need to provide copies of their child's certificate of birth, passport and their ID cards.

Additional documents for different types of visa

Visitor visa: Travel schedule

Business visa:

- If you're self-employed or a company owner, you need to provide certificate of business registration issued by the Department of Planning and Investment

- If you're employed, official dispatch from agency stating purpose of trip

-  Confirmation of the expense payment of the sending party. Or confirmation of  the expense paymentt of the inviting party

-  Invitation letter of a Chinese company

- Proof of transactions between the two parties
